On-Line Screening Instruments
| The three screening instruments provide interesting alternatives to pen
and paper tests. They are brief (5-15 minutes) and give almost immediate feedback
and advice. The Drug and Alcohol Problem Screening System (USA) is currently
being trialed. It includes a useful format of printable information which can be
added to client notes. The instrument from the Nottingham Healthcare NHS Trust provides a simple, 15 item alcohol dependency screening instrument. Thepsychiatric assessment only has a small substance use section.
